Five Things Friday Part 12 now means we have done this for 12 weeks. Almost 3 full months! We are learning and growing and getting better at this every week (we think at least!)
So with that said, TGIF! Hope your week is great and you have something to look forward to this weekend.
We are doing today’s post with an adult drink (remember the poll we did on Instagram?! You all wanted Dawn’s thoughts on the spiked seltzers … and she has tried them all, lol), something for laundry, and 3 beauty finds.
Since it is Friday, let’s talk about an alcoholic beverage first.
Dawn here…As we move past summer now into fall and then winter, my alcoholic beverage of choice is still an ice cold hard seltzer. I DO enjoy several of them, usually not vodka based, however, I grabbed a 12pk of Basic Hard Seltzers to try due to the fact that I just couldn’t find High Noon Hard Seltzers anywhere.
Here are some facts about BHS:
- Available in 4 flavors: Cranberry, lemon, cucumber, & pamplemousse (graprefruit)
- 90 calories
- 0 sugars
- 1 carb
- Gluten Free
- 4.5% ABV
GREAT NATURAL TASTE!
I turned my niece Devyn (hey girl) onto them, here is a quote from her. “They are best served cold, the flavors are strong but not overbearing, I love that they’re low in calories and I have never had something vodka based that tasted so great!”
Next time you are at your favorite liquor store, pickup some Basic Hard Seltzer and give them a try! Please be sure to let us know your thoughts 👍🏻 or 👎🏻 either way 😉
Continuing on the non-beauty review this Friday, let’s discuss a product for laundry! It’s pretty hard to find.. looks like it may be in stock at Walmart, but only for pickup.
Dawn here~I LOVE THIS STUFF!
I’ve been using Lysol Laundry Sanitizer for awhile now, well before COVID. This is the ONLY sanitizer that takes the “STANK” sweat odor and germs out of my exercise clothes. I realize chemicals are not desired by all but for my peace of mind, especially with COVID and Flu season approaching, it’s necessary to disinfect my clothes. I’ve tried other products, including vinegar, that cannot compare to LLS.
I started out using this for my workout clothes only but now I use it for ALL of my laundry.
Note: This is used as an addictive and should be placed in the fabric softener dispenser, not in the detergent dispenser. Kills 99.9% of bacteria, contains 0% bleach, is safe for both whites and colors, and makes for clothes and washing machine smell fresh and clean!
THIS WORKS LIKE A DREAM!!!!
*Due to COVID this product can be hard to find, I usually get mine at my local grocery store! So in closing, if you find some make sure you add it to your cart!!
Finishing the last 3 for some beauty finds for the week!
THIS IS A 2 in 1 POST
I (Dawn) find that using both Hydra-Light Smoothing Lip Scrub and Hydra-Light Plumping Lip Mask together is a winning combination. Using then before bedtime has made a noticeable difference in my incredibly dry lips.
I want to share a brief backstory: When I was in my late 20’s early 30’s I was on Accutane, which was prescribed by my dermatologist to help clear up my oily acne prone skin. Accutane did WONDERS for my complexion but WRECKED my lips. IT TOTALLY DRIED THEM OUT 😐 to the point that they were cracked, bleeding and peeling daily! To this day my lips never fully recovered, however, since I’ve been using hydra-light lip scrub and lip mask (about 3 months) my lips are 90% rejuvenated!
Exfoliates and smooths lips. Key ingredients are hyaluronic acid which locks in moisture, mango butter and coconut oil which nourishes dry lips and natural sugars that buff away dry skin.
Smooths, plumps and moistures lips.
These products are without animal by-products, Parabens, Sulfates and Phthalates.
Easy to use: Apply the scrub to lips with your finger and rub them together (leave on for a few seconds) then gently remove with a damp washcloth and follow up with lip mask!
Once again, Becca Cosmetics for the win!!!
Last one for today!
If you are blind as a bat like I (Dawn) am, this 10x Magnifying Mirror is a must have. I LOVE it so much that I have one in all of my bathrooms and it’s a staple in my luggage for when I’m traveling.
It allows me to get up close without having to wear my glasses, it is a magnifying miracle!
The mirror is very clear and not distorted at all. It’s ideal for makeup application and for tweezing fine hairs. My husband also uses it to assist with shaving and trimming his ear and nose hairs. Lol!
The suction cups adhere to most hard surfaces making it convenient to hang. Sticks so well, almost too well, that’s not a complaint, it’s actually a good thing! I sure don’t need 7 years of bad luck if it falls down and breaks into a million pieces!
SO! That concludes part 12 for today! We love sharing home finds, beauty finds, makeup finds, you name it. As always Dawn brings the best best best reviews.
Question: What is your favorite find of the week?
