Glossier Priming Moisturizer Balance

Eva – So… I discovered this on an Instagram ad. No joke. I am always sold on those things!

I have really obnoxious oily skin as the days goes on. For years now, I have been on the hunt for a good primer, and I try everything I can get my hands on. There wasn’t high hopes for this, but the description sold me:

Glossier primer great for oily skin. Five things friday part 8!

Balancing oil without drying skin? YES PLEASE! My first time using it, I was like, OMG, this feels amazing on my skin. It felt so soothing. And honestly, I use it at night now, as well, because it feels that refreshing. IDK if I am supposed to but hey, whatever works!

I am also a sucker for pretty packing..lol.

If you have oily/combination skin that gets worse in the afternoons.. and even if you don’t.. I highly recommend this primer. It’s light and just really feels great on the skin, and it DOES work.

Next onto an item you’ll never not see me using at the gym…

Trident White Peppermint Gum

For #2, if you guessed GUM… you are correct!

I always need gum in my mouth when teaching Bodypump and Zumba. Honestly I am not chewing & chomping it, but I just have it in my mouth because I found it prevents my mouth from drying out. I talk a lot on the mic through teaching BodyPump, and I don’t have time to really drink water, so this helps a ton!

I also use this because it’s one of the few chewing gums that does not disintegrate as I teach. *Most* gums I have tried fall apart, melt, and I end up swallowing it. This stays completely in tact through 2 hours of teaching. WIN!

This gum is also great for after meals and just everyday use. I have it as an Amazon subscription basis every 2 months. So I do get good use out of it & it lasts a while.

Does it whiten my teeth? No. Definitely not. Can’t have it all.. haha.

#3, #4, and #5 are all Dawn, so here you go! and I have to be honest, she really gives the best reviews!

Tweezerman Folding iLashComb

Dawn here and taking over the next 3!

THIS IS THE GREATEST LASHCOMB EVER! Definitely an essential item in my daily makeup routine.

I do apply several different layers of mascara, anywhere from 3 to 5 (and I know Eva does the same). I use the iLashcomb in between mascara applications to help separate, lengthen, and remove excess mascara & clumps. The comb is metal so the teeth are strong and SHARP!

iLash comb - best for de clumping lashes. Five Things Friday part 8!!

I gently clean the residual mascara off the teeth with a makeup wipe or hydrogen peroxide on a cotton square, let dry, fold, and store in my makeup bag.

I’ve yet to find another product that gives my eyelashes such amazing definition! Tweezerman products are quality made so they can be pricey but well worth it!

If you are obsessed with long perfect lashes like I am, I highly recommend you add this to your makeup routine!

I am next going to take you to my favorite face cleanser.

Bobbi Brown Soothing Face Cleanser

I believe that taking good care of your skin starts with a good deep cleanser. My go to cleanser is Bobbi Brown Soothing Cleansing Oil (Note, this is different & and different use from our Favorite Skin Oil we wrote about on Tuesday).

I’ve been using it for quite some time now – I’m constantly buying new cleansers to try and I ALWAYS go back to it!

Bobbie brown face cleansing oil - the best for my dry skin. Five Things Friday part 8!!
look at this gorgeous bottle!

Most cleansers leave my face feeling dry and tight, NOT THIS ONE!!

Not only does it leave my skin feeling AMAZING and smells delightful, but it removes ALL of my makeup – and I mean EVERYTHING (even waterproof mascara)!!

I have sensitive skin and this oil cleanser doesn’t irritate or cause breakouts like other products do. Don’t let the fact that it’s an oil based product scare you, it does NOT leave any oil residue on your face, it leaves your skin feeling clean and hydrated!

I’M TOTALLY HOOKED!!

Eye Lift 360 Waterproof Primer

Last but not least, a primer I am also hooked on.

*please note this is absolutely not sponsored; we genuinely want to share this product.

I purchased this primer when it first launched and I’m so thrilled that I did!

Finding the right product for under my eyes is a huge struggle, and what intrigued me about this primer is that it works all around the eyes and provides anti-aging benefits. I honestly was thinking this would end up with all of the rest of my under eye products – in a basket collecting dust! 😂

eyelift 360 primer, obsessed! Five Things Friday part 8!

THIS WATERPROOF PRIMER IS INCREDIBLE!!!

I use it everyday, and you just need a very little bit under eyes and then blend it in. It can also be used on the eyelids & smile lines or as I call them “parentheses lines” around the mouth. Directions recommend to use before adding concealer but I use just the primer only. I like the way it smooths out my eyes without making them look dry and flaky. The older I get the more difficult it is for me to find products that are light enough to cover my imperfections without it looking caked on!

(Eva here – I have not tried this but I am hating my undereyes at the moment so now I am sold on this. HA!)

You can get $10 off your first order here.

Thrive 360 waterproof primer keeps my eyes looking clean and fresh for the ENTIRE day!

That concludes PART 8 of Five Things Friday! Do you have a favorite under eye product? That is always something we are looking for.

FIVE THINGS FRIDAY PART 7

Hey there! Five Things Friday Part 7(!!!) coming in hot. 7 weeks of creating blog posts and it’s gone by incredibly fast. Broken record saying this but we are truly enjoying creating the content for you all!

Can you also believe it is FALL in just a few days? We are LOVING this cooler weather!

Five Things Friday part 7!!!

Today is a good mix of items… mostly from Dawn ♥︎

Origins Ginger Body Scrub

Dawn here! I’ve been using this product for years, since the 90’s!

I remember going to visit my friend Lisa at her new job at the Origins Store in the Stamford Mall.  She was excited to be working for a company using natural & organic products. She introduced so many wonderful products to me, one being the Incredible Ginger Body Scrub. I’ve been using it ever since!!!

Origins Ginger Body Scrub..part of our five things friday!

Love the way it gently exfoliates my rough, dry skin and leaves it feeling soft and rejuvenated! I’m totally obsessed with the smell of it!

Another “staple” product of mine…. It’s in my shower at all times!

You can also get a deal, code “FAM20”:

New Skin Liquid Bandage

OK so the second one is also from me, Dawn.

I am an accident waiting to happen. I’m constantly injuring myself! Ugh! #thestruggleisreal.

On Sunday while unloading my dishwasher I sliced my finger open right on my knuckle with a sharp knife!! OUCH!! Once I cleaned up the wound I applied New Skin.

new skin - great for healing skin... part of Five Things Friday part 7!

I’m sure many of you probably heard of or have already used New Skin but for those that haven’t, it’s a must have in your medicine cabinet.

It is a waterproof liquid bandage for your skin that heals your cuts like magic within days. I have to warn you that it does string a little!

This product has been life changing for me and my husband who is also accident prone! It must be a family thing! Lol!

Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps (GF) Minis Original Flavor

PHEW! That is a long title for #3!

Dawn here..again. Let me start by saying I do have a sensitivity to gluten but I do not have celiac disease.

THESE PRETZELS ARE MY #1 GO TO SNACK! Only 110 calories for 35 minis! They are thin, crispy, and full of pretzel flavor, so you won’t believe that they are gluten free.

great gluten free mini pretzels!

When Eva’s daughter Caroline comes to my house she always ask for some of “Auntie Dawn’s yummy pretzels!” (Eva here – every time I am with Dawn, which is weekly, she has 1-2 bags in her purse at all times and is constantly eating them. lol)

They can be difficult to find in stores so I stock up on them from walmart.

If you are a pretzel lover I suggest you give these adorable tasty minis a try!

Next up..some makeup and hair ♥︎

Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

We are almost through the list at #4!

Dawn – This is the only mascara that I can wear on my bottom lashes that won’t give me raccoon eyes, and it’s very long lasting!!

The wand and bristles are teeny tiny (half the size of a regular brush), which is perfect for coating lower lashes precisely. I even use this on my upper lashes as a finishing coat.

Teeny Tiny Mascara!

I highly recommend if you like your lower lashes to POP!!!

P.S. I purchased one for Eva to try so I’m curious to hear what she thinks….

Eva here – I just tried it this morning and really like it. Dawn’s assessment above is exactly how I feel – it’s very precise and impossible to clump. Clumping is my pet-peeve on my bottom lashes. To be honest, I didn’t even know this existed; Dawn told me about it & then surprised me with it. Super happy with the results, and I like having a mascara to evenly do the bottom lash, which is my biggest challenge!

SO! Last but not least….

Dry Bar Detox Conditioner

#5! Last one for today.

We have all heard of dry shampoo, but it’s rare you hear about a “dry conditioner“, right?

We both really love this dry conditioner.

Detox Dry Condioner. we both love this! Five Things Friday part 7

I (Dawn) especially like it when my hair looks dull and my ends look frizzy and dry! Every morning I spray it on my ponytail before I do anything.

I (Eva) love to use this after sweaty double late-night fitness classes I teach at the gym.

To be honest…we both struggle to find a REALLY good dry shampoo. Does anyone have any recommendations?

If we had to choose, we do like Dry Bar brand as pictured below, but we are still on the hunt something just a tad better, which is why we 100% gravitate towards the dry conditioner. Just works better for both of us!

Decent dry shampoo. We are still on the hunt for the BEST though!

Quick review for this one…but sometimes we like to just keep it straight to the point. ha!

So there it is…our Five Fav’s for this week (part 7!) Read Part 6 here.

Another week down and the weekend is here!

What is everyone up to this weekend? Any questions – we are here to answer!
